IAW were appointed to carry out retaining wall design to enable construction of new basement structure as a temporary case on this new residential detached house. The site had geotechnical complexity and access restriction. We proposed two structural solutions – Contiguous piled retaining wall and Sheet piled retaining wall. The client instructed us to produce designs for both options. Contiguous piled wall was eventually considered due to its cost effectiveness and construction ease. We were further appointed to carry out design for higher level reinforced concrete ground floor slab and beams.
